![]() A new play by Simon Mendes da Costa. |
The strain of a family reunion, following the death of their father, causes moments of ghastly social embarrassment for two brothers and their wives, with side-splitting results. Ingeniously set in the bedroom of the family home both in the 1950s and in the present, this compelling and fast-moving family comedy visits Bath direct from a West End run following a sell out season at Hampstead Theatre. Dazzlingly constructed and littered with hysterical and frequently rude one-liners, Losing Louis offers a great comic role for Alison Steadman with resonances of her greatest triumph, Beverley in Abigail’s Party with David Horovitch as her morose and increasingly drunken husband. |
